Today we flew from Southend Airport to Jersey with EasyJet. Southend Airport must be the quietest airport in the country!!!! There was no-one at bag drop or going through security and we were through in about 5 minutes - it was so eerie that Peter said it was like being in an' end of the world' type film where we were the only people left! We were quite relieved to find other people actually on the flight as at one point we thought we might be the only people on the plane!
45 minutes after leaving Southend we had arrived in Jersey and we went to pick up our hire car and then drove to home for the week - a very stylish town house in a small mews just off St Brelades Bay.

We went to Waitrose to get some essentials (mainly wine!) and then we went for a walk along the promenade of St Brelades Bay, a sheltered bay with a beautiful beach and plenty of beach side cafes and bars.

The weather was lovely and we couldn't believe how warm it was - people were actually sunbathing on the beach and a couple of crazy fools were swimming in the sea! On the way back we walked along the beach back to our house. In the evening we went to one of the beach side restaurants and had a very nice meal.
