Today we went on an excursion that took us to the two major historical sights of the region. The first stop was Perge, just over an hour away from where we are staying, which was once a bustling Roman port dating back to the 2nd Century AD. The guide first of all took our group of 14 round to give us some background and then we had free time to wander around - it was very interesting and you could imagine how it was all those years ago!
Our next stop of the day was Aspendos, where the best preserved amphitheatre in Turkey is. It is 2000 years old and it was amazing how intact it was - a bit too intact for my liking and it didn't really feel that old - I preferred the one in Side.
For the rest of the day we just chilled out, and after dinner enjoyed the evenings entertainment which was the house band playing rock classics!!
