Vietnam: Halong Bay - Thursday 17th April

After a good nights sleep we woke up to another misty day in Halong Bay. It was lovely to open the blinds and look out at the scenery although we certainly weren't alone, there were several other boats in the bay.

There was a Tai Chi session on the sun deck at 6:30am but we thought we would give that a miss! Before breakfast a group of us went out on a traditional rowing boat to see the lagoon at Luon Cave - they promised us monkeys but we didn't see any apart from the one I was sitting next to on the boat :-). It was lovely and tranquil.......once the two American ladies in our group got the hint and stopped yabbering!

Once we returned to the boat, we had breakfast and then packed up our stuff and watched the lovely scenery go by whilst we sailed back to port and then it was another long journey back to Hanoi. Although only a short trip to Halong Bay it has definitely been worth doing - the scenery has been amazing, and it was Peter's first time sleeping on a boat!

When we arrived back at our hotel in Hanoi in the afternoon they asked us if we wanted to upgrade for an extra £13 which we did so for our last night in Hanoi we are staying in a suite!

In the evening we went to a restaurant that is 4 floors up and has lovely views over the lake. We enjoyed watching people trying to cross the road whilst eating our dinner - Peter said it should be a national sport in Vietnam!
