Today we hired a tuk tuk to take us out and about for the day - our first stop was Bantrey Srei, a 10th Century temple 16 miles outside of Siem Reap. We wanted to get there when it opened as that is the quietest time for visitors so we were picked up at 6am for the 1 hour journey. Believe it or not, it was quite chilly on our way there, especially with the breeze from the tuk tuk, and we had to wear our jumpers! On the way there our driver stopped at one of the reservoirs to watch the sun rising.

On the way back to Siem Reap we stopped off at the Landmine museum, which was a lot more interesting than it sounds!, and also a butterfly centre.

Our final stop for the day was Bantreay Samre, an early 12th Century Temple. It was quite a steep temple with lots of climbing involved.
We got back to the hotel around lunchtime and walked in to the centre of town for lunch. Unfortunately we got lost walking back so it took us twice as long which is not good in the hottest part of the day!
In the afternoon I had booked a 1 hour foot massage which turned out to be more a foot/leg massage with reflexology. It was good but she was quite vigorous on my calfs but I told myself no pain no gain! At the end she smothered my legs with what felt like deep heat, and then gave me a head massage whilst my legs felt like they were on fire....only in South East Asia!
In the evening we went to dinner in a Rhumerie which also serves lovely creole food, and of course plenty of rum!
